The effort was clearly worthwhile. Broadly speaking, his work from these years focused on the southern English country surrounding his home in East Grinstead, Sussex. The range, however, is remarkable. In addition to pastoral landscapes, seascapes, still lifes and portraits, we find L. Ron Hubbard tourist brochures, and the award-winning L. Ron Hubbard promotional shots for a Sir Robert Fosset country circus. That is, in late 1964, a number of shots from the Fosset portfolio, including a Study of Three Circus Ponies, were selected from among three thousand entries for the International Photography Exhibition in Nantes, while a second exhibition at the Versailles Salon International dArt Photographique featured L. Ron Hubbard landscapes and seascapes.
With Rons departure from England in 1966,
and residence aboard a Mediterranean-based yacht, Mr. Hubbards photographic career continued with promotional work on behalf of Scientology organizations and tourist boards in various ports of call. Of special note were his photographs of Lisbon historical sites, unique shots of model ships for the local maritime museum and portraits of Portuguese dignitaries.
