[A culture is only as great as its dreams and its dreams are dreamed by artists.]

Today, Dianetics and Scientology organizations that provide such services as the Key to Life literally span the globe. But there is one type of Scientology organization that is particularly reflective of how L. Ron Hubbard viewed the artist and his role in rebuilding what is plainly a troubled society: Celebrity Centre. Founded in 1969 under his express directions, it is specifically Celebrity Centre's mission to utilize the full body of Dianetics and Scientology on behalf of the creative individual. To date, there are eleven Celebrity Centres, most famously Celebrity Centre International, appropriately located in Hollywood's historic Chateau Elysée (known today as the Manor Hotel), once residence to some ofthe city's most memorable stars. In addition to regular Dianetics and Scientology services, Celebrity Centre organizations provide a ready forum for poets, playwrights, actors, painters and musicians--all in the name of cultural revitalization.

But regardless of where the artist receives Scientology, the underlying point of Scientology remains firm: to address that artist as his spiritual self, and so rekindle his artistic potential and the greater aesthetic that is himself and so help him forward his work in what Ron describes as that glorious "branch of activity we call ART." For in the final analysis, as he tells us, "A culture is only as great as its dreams, and its dreams are dreamed by artists."

To which we might add, as an artist himself, L. Ron Hubbard understood only too well just how important were those dreams to the creative person, while as a philosopher of Art, he knew what those dreams mean to us all:

"Works of art are viewed by people.
     "They are heard by people.
     "They are felt by people.
"They are not just the fodder of a close-knit group of initiates.
"They are the soul food of all people."
