We can know, with all else we know, that the human soul, freed, is the only effective therapeutic agent that we have. -- L. Ron Hubbard

Among the places L. Ron Hubbard lived and worked, there are those of supreme significance—the landmarks of Scientology that will always resonate with his presence, and where he left his indelible stamp on our history. One such landmark is the original Founding Church in Washington, DC, which Ron established in July 1955. For it was here that Ron made the administrative breakthroughs that lie behind the most basic Scientology organizational policy, and on which our organizations are built today.

Extensive research was done, with meticulous attention paid to the smallest details, to ensure this building was restored to full historical accuracy. Careful review of documents, photographs and interviews with those who were there with him were consulted to ensure you will experience the original Founding Church as it actually was when Ron was there.

So when you enter Ron’s office and stand behind his desk, you are seeing just what he saw as the first Scientology Executive Director. There is even the legendary globe which was presented to him on behalf of every Central Organization in the world.

You’ll walk through the Hubbard Communications Office, past the desk where Ron’s personal secretary typed his policies and technical bulletins and transcribed his recorded lectures.

And you’ll see the very room where Ron lectured to students and performed Scientology’s first marriage ceremony and christening.

Here you can truly walk in Ron’s footsteps as he laid the foundation of our church and the monumental expansion of Scientology organizations that was to follow.

These L. Ron Hubbard landmarks have also been historically restored and are now open.
